Our vision is for every person to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.
It is not very common that the animals, and in particular our relationship with them, become topic at school. They may offer interesting insights to improve interdisciplinary learning (science and environmental education and citizenship, for example), and interesting educational values, as focused on the development of attention and respect towards the other, those who are different from us. During the two meetings, that were held at the primary school of Castel del Piano (Italy) and which were attended by all classes, the LAV volunteers have tried to enhance animals as living beings with their own characteristics and needs, and highlighted the rewarding aspects of a positive relationship with them.
On the 12-13th of December 2011, trainers from İstanbul Bilgi University Department of Children Studies have done workshops about Childrens’ Rights and Democratic Charter for School with our 4th grade students.
